Aromatic Traminer

Cluster
traminer

 colli-orientali

Small, about 10-12 cm long, shaped like a truncated pyramid or sometimes like a cylinder, with one or two wings. Sub-round berries, with tough and very waxy peel. Two or three grape seeds per berry.
Wine

Straw yellow colour more or less intense, its fragrant bouquet evokes the scents of vanilla and lime blossom, almonds and ripe fruits. Dry, aromatic, intense, distinctive and full-bodied. It is a great white wine, but it requires a great technique of vinification.

Historical Background

This vine has uncertain origins, in fact the opinions about its origins are mutually conflicting: some believe that it comes from Tyrol, others from Alsace, the Palatinate and Württemberg, others from Tramin in South Tyrol. What appears to be certain, however, is the fact that the origins of this variety lay in high- latitude areas.
In Italy, the leader regions in the cultivation of Traminer are Trentino Alto Adige and Friuli Venezia Giulia, where Traminer is excellently adapted to the soil, climate and the sun exposure.

Pairings
It pairs perfectly with hot or cold appetizers, fish dishes with sauces and tasty cheese varieties.
Serving temperature
10-12 °C.
